WHERE IS YOUR VOICE / NOSE?

voice and body work / clown and stage presence

The workshop is addressed to everyone who wants to discover techniques of working with the body and voice, stage performance, performativity and new areas of their personality and possibilities; for those who have had the opportunity to work with their voice before, or try their hand at clowning, as well as for absolute amateurs.

What connects practices of conscious work with voice and clowning?

They lead us to a better understanding of ourselves, meeting our strengths and weaknesses, and points of our personality, the existence of which we did not even realize.

Both techniques give access primarily (but not only) to improvisation. They create space to move away from presenting something “beautifully”, they allow mistakes. They base on change and work with change. Allow us to laugh at what we do, find distance and better understanding of ourselves.
It will be a short but intense journey to our intimacy, among different faces and social roles.

We invite you to the author's workshop during which two instructors will combine their experience (vocal and theater practice) by offering intensive practice of voice techniques and clowning as a theater technique. Both parts of the workshop will organically correspond with each other so that they complement each other.

As a social worker and educator, he worked in educational and rehabilitation, resocialization and integration institutions (i.e. Occupational Therapy Workshops, orphanage, emergency care center, immigrant center...) in France, Romania and Poland.

Description of individual parts of the workshop:

CLOWN is a poet, a buffoon, thanks to which he can afford a lot. He is a master of breaking taboos, undermining ideology, ethical and moral principles, courtesy in a broad sense. He allows us to better understand our desires, limitations and social roles.
Learning a clown is a journey deep inside yourself in search of hidden feelings and emotions, components of our personality that exaggerated and sharpened will build our stage character, our Clown.
A clown cannot exist without the audience, it is in constant contact with it. He improvises by reflecting their reactions and gestures, and it depends on it how his fate unfolds.
We will be looking for our own clown, who is the person who lies deep inside, and how to use our potential.
We will focus on working on our own clown, on listening to our inner voice and the voice of the audience, we will work on the stage movement, playing solo and with a partner.

VOICE - it's an organic part of ourselves. Getting to know your voice, the "song" that results from us, is getting to know yourself as well. Recognizing what limits us, naming "ourselves", understanding our body and its needs. Finding what gives us freedom and contact with "here and now" are also part of the voice practice.

During the workshop, we will work with the body (and voice as an integral part of it; movement as a source; dance, voice opening exercises, multiple exercises to increase the freedom of voice use, and non-technical - we will explore different planes on which our singing results - emotion, awareness, intention, need); share and create a common musical and sound space (musical sensitivity and mindfulness towards other people); learn the performative aspect of singing. During the workshop we will NOT: evaluate
